Home Improvement Programs: Provides grants to eligible property owners for necessary repairs to eliminate health and safety hazards and to make accessibility modifications to address the needs of the disabled and/or elderly households. The homeowner will also be required to contribute a percentage towards the total rehab cost. Participants must meet all guidelines.
Home-buyer Assistance Programs: Provides grants to eligible first time homebuyers for down payment, closing costs, and modern rehabilitation of newly purchased homes. The participant must be income eligible, looking to purchase a home in the Oswego County area and have ability to obtain a mortgage loan. The applicant will be required to attend OHDC homebuyer education classes.
Housing Counseling Services: OHDC is a certified HUD Housing Counseling Agency that provides a wide range of services that include homebuyer education, home maintenance education, mortgage default/restructuring counseling. tenancy/fair housing counseling, financial literacy budget/debt counseling.
