La Fuerza Unida de Glen Cove, Inc. was incorporated in December 1978 as a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization to enhance the social, literary, educational, cultural, and economic condition of the Hispanic Americans and the low- to moderate-income population at large. As such, it provides a gamut of social, youth, human, educational, immigration, housing, and community economic development services to the residents of the City of Glen Cove and the County of Nassau.

Children/Youth Services - La Fuerza has provided services for children and youth since its inception. Current programs for children/youth include:
- Licensed School Age Child Care (SACC) Program. -
- Latino Student Solidarity Program for High School Students.

- English as a Second Language instruction and GED classes

- Job Placement Facilitation and Mediation for Day Workers
Housing Services - Under this type of services, La Fuerza offers the following programs:
- Neighborhood Preservation Program: Under the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR) La Fuerza addresses housing problems, and offers tenant advocacy, training, tenant-landlord mediation, homebuyer seminars, workshops, and homelessness prevention programs. Each year La Fuerza serves an average of 1000 individuals/families through this program.
- Homeownership Counseling - La Fuerza provides one-on-one pre-purchase counseling, post purchase and home maintenance .education. One other component of this program is series of workshops on financial education and home buyer education. In October 2006, La Fuerza was selected to be part of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) Homeownership Network resulting in the expansion of our housing counseling services. This initiative combines U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requirements with NCLR's best-practices model designed to maximize impact on Latino homeownership.
- Foreclosure prevention Program: This is a comprehensive program designed to help those homeowners that at risk of loosing their homes. In particular, it does a massive outreach and education, loan modification, assistance in short sales, deed in lieu or final foreclosure process with our legal assistance team.
Hempstead Hispanic Civic Association, Inc. (HHCA) was organized in 1977 and incorporated in 1978 for the purpose of serving the minority community at three different levels: housing, education, and civic activities. A community-based organization working to promote the welfare of those resident in the Village of Hempstead by creating positive change in neighborhoods struggling with disinvestment, poverty, and neglect.
The improvement and preservation of our traditional neighborhood will be accomplished by providing the following activities and services: foreclosure counseling; first time homeowners workshop; housing advocacy; tenant/landlord mediation; housing management; housing community advocacy; English as a Second Language program; After School Tutoring Program; translation services; Summer camp; parent rights advocacy with school district
In 1984, the Hispanic Brotherhood, Inc. was established in order to meet the needs of the fast growing population of Hispanics in Rockville Centre and the surrounding areas. Housing for this community continues to be a major concern for the agency.
The agency provides a Senior Citizen Nutrition Program, an After School Child Care Program, Housing Counseling Program, Forclosure Assistance Program, Employment, Entitlements Assistance and a Food Pantry. More than 900 people under the Sction 8 Program are assisted by Agency every year. Working closely with the Rockville Centre Section 8 Program, our Agency has assisted with over 300 Vouchers.

Weatherization Services may also include other energy-related improvements such as: water heater repair/replacement, lighting fixture replacement, venting systems, refrigerator replacement, and certain electrical service work.
Weatherization services are available to income-eligible (60% of State median income) individuals who may be either homeowners or renters living in a single-family home, a manufactured/mobile home, or an apartment.
