Formed 35 years ago, Alfred Housing Committee, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit 501c3 that serves the towns and villages of Alfred, Almond and Wellsville. Alfred receives administrative funds through the NYS Homes and Community Renewal's Office of Community Renewal's Rural Preservation Program. <br> <br>Alfred Housing Committee offers a variety of services to our constituents including, but not limited to: Revolving Loan Fund for current or prospective businesses in the Village of Wellsville. <br> <br>The Alfred Housing Committee has housing for the elderly, those with special needs, and families with low-to-moderate income. The Alfred Housing Committee provides safe affordable housing at our 100 units located in four apartment complexes. The Alfred Housing Committee offers assistance to municipalities in our service area in writing state and federal grants for infrastructure and economic development.

ACCORD provides services to Allegany County. Over the past forty years, ACCORD's services have expanded to include housing rehabilitation, management and home ownership assistance; economic, business and community development; family development; and child care, youth and infant development services. Highlights of the infant, child and youth services include: after school programs aimed at youth; Child Care Resource and Referral; and Head Start and Early Head Start.
 
ACCORD is the Section 8 administrator for Allegany County and operates several owner-occupied housing repair and renovation and home ownership assistance programs. ACCORD also provides services that include an emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence, a food pantry, a 24-hour emergency hotline, a homelessness prevention program and facility and a Respite Program, which provides short-term residential care for children with emotional or developmental disabilities.
 
ACCORD operates the Allegany Business Center which conducts a small business training course and provides technical assistance to local small businesses.

Andover Historic Preservation Corporation (AHPC), a 501(c)(3) corporation was established May 20, 1980. AHPC's mission is to assist low to moderate income homeowners with affordable opportunities for housing improvements, stabilization and preservation of the housing stock in our communities and provide affordable opportunities for home ownership.
 
Andover Historic Preservation Corporation's (AHPC) approved service area includes the Town and Village of Andover and the Town of Independence, which are located in Allegany County.  AHPC has also provide grants to the Town of Almond, Ward, Willing and Wellsville, which we also consider them part of our service area.
 
AHPC writes and has available grants for owner-occupied homeowners within its service area and neighboring communities when funding has been granted to either AHPC or the municipality that was awarded. AHPC looks at both State and Federal grants to assist these homeowners with repairs to their homes. They apply for CDBG, AHC, and HOME grants when the funding rounds are open to apply. AHPC also has been successful in receiving monies through the Access to Home programs, Restore, Main Street funding as well as the three previously mentioned.
 
AHPC has three rental properties for low income persons to apply for tenancy. They also have seventeen (17) rental apartments.
AHPC also assists their service area local governments with help in finding and or applying for grant monies. We have also assisted neighboring communities in Allegany County and a few in Steuben County in finding grants for their owner-occupied homeowners and their local municipalities.

Bishop Sheen Ecumenical Housing Foundation, Inc. (Sheen Housing) is a not-for -profit corporation that provides safe, decent, affordable housing for very low-to moderate-income families, seniors and persons with disabilities in order to promote their self worth and dignity. Sheen Housing was founded in 1968 to help low-income families purchase their first homes by providing loans and grants for closing costs. Over the past years, programs and staff have been added to address a wider range of urban and rural housing needs. Today Sheen Housing supports not only families, but also organizations that provide housing for low-income families.

Bishop Sheen provides home repair services to decrease substandard housing conditions that threaten the health and safety of residents as well as accessibility modifications to allow frail elderly and those with disabilities to remain independent in their own home. They offer home ownership opportunities, housing education and housing counseling for first-time home buyers as well as current homeowners experiencing a housing need. They also provide affordable rental opportunities for families, seniors, veterans and persons with disabilities.

Bishop Sheen serves the Counties of Allegany, Cayuga, Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne and Yates.

Cuba Community Development Corporation (CCDC) is a 501(c)(3) corporation established in 1981 for the purpose of improving housing conditions for low income homeowners throughout its five-town service area in Allegany County, NY, which includes the Towns of Cuba, Belfast, Friendship, Clarksville and New Hudson. We are a Rural Preservation Company (RPC) and apply for and receive grants from a variety of state and federal sources including, the HOME program, RESTORE program, CDBG grants, and Affordable Housing Corporation (AHC) funds. These funds are then used to provide 100% grants to eligible homeowners for needed repairs to their sub-standard homes, thereby addressing health and safety issues and energy-efficiency problems. This then enables the homeowners to improve their quality of life and in many cases, retain occupancy of their homes. CCDC operates with a full-time staff of three persons: an executive director, an administrative assistant, and a rehab specialist. Over the course of a typical fiscal year, we administer in excess of $1M in funds to make repairs to more than 180 housing units and to assist over 470 persons.

Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit organization incorporated in New York State in June of 1965. It is one of hundreds of Community Action Agencies across the United States. Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc. is an organization dedicated to providing opportunities to help vulnerable people living in Cattaraugus County achieve economic, physical, and emotional security.

ENERGY AND HOUSING SERVICES DEPARTMENT: ENERGY: Operates the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) in Cattaraugus and Allegany counties as well as 3 Seneca nation of Indians territories.

HOUSING: Rural Preservation Program administers HOME programs that address owner-occupied rehabilitation throughout Cattaraugus County and a Community Development Block grant for a manufactured home replacement program in Allegany County.

The Property Management Department manages facilities which are owned in a limited partnership with Cattaraugus Rural Housing Corporation, a subsidiary corporation of CCA. These include four USDA Rural Development 515 Projects, a 22 room SRO, two duplexes and eight transitional apartments. Funding sources include: NYS DHCR, NYS HTF, Section 8 Rental Assistance, the Enterprise Foundation, The Enterprise Social Investment Cooperation, USDA RD, and the Homeless Housing Assistance Program.

SERVICES DEPARTMENT: VICTIMS SERVICES: Provides many services for victims in Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties. These include: Domestic Violence Residential program, Domestic Violence Non-Residential Program, Children's Program, Rape Crisis Program, Aid to Victims or Witnesses, Batterers' Intervention Program, Violence Prevention Initiative and DSS Domestic Violence Liaison.

NUTRITION SERVICES: Addresses nutritional needs of the county residents through its Nutrition Outreach and Education Program, Emergency Food Pantry, Lighthouse Community Kitchen, which provides meals for the needy four days a week, a Budget Club, Summer Food Service Program and Food Recovery, and Seeding and Gleaning Project.

YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES: Provides the school based program Family and Schools Together and Family Group counseling.
